Автобіографічна розповідь принцеси Діани

P-Cl

My name is Diana Spencer. I was was born on the first of July 1961 in Sand Ingham in England. I had two older sisters and a younger brother. In childhood I liked games, swimming, running and dancing. I wanted to become a dancer. Besides I loved children very much and at the age of sixteen I worked in schools for very young children. I became princess, when Prince Charles, the Queen's son, asked me to be his wife and we got married. I had two sons. I liked ordinary people, though she was rich and had many rich friends. I was devoted to the sick and the poor. I visited hospitals for people with AIDS and for lepers and wasn't afraid to touch them, talk to them, listen to them. I worked on children's charities, and had teamed up with Hillary Clinton in an effort to ban landmines. And it's not only money that I wanted to give people. I wanted to give them a part of my soul, to make them happy because I was unhappy herself.

If you want to know much about me my assistants will help you.

Доповідь 1-го учня

Childhood and teenage years

Diana Frances Spencer was born at Park House, Sand Ingham in Norfolk, England, the youngest daughter of John Spencer, Viscount Althorn and his first wife Frances Spencer. Her father was of British descent and counted the 1st Duke of Marlborough among his forbears. Her mother, who was of English and Irish descent, was a daughter of the 4th Baron Fermoy. Diana had a younger brother, Charles, and two elder sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes.

Initially, her mother took Diana and her younger brother to live in an apartment in .Diana was eight years old when her parents were divorced in 1969London's Knightsbridge, where Diana attended a local day school. At school she showed a particular talent for music (as an accomplished pianist), dancing and domestic science, and gained the school's award for the girl giving maximum help to the school and her schoolfellows. She left West Heath in 1977 and went to finishing school at the Institute Alpine Videmanette in Rouge Mont, Switzerland, which she
left after the Easter term of 1978. The following year she moved to a flat in Cole   Herne   Court, London. For a while she looked after the child of an American couple, and she worked as a kindergarten teacher at the Young England School in Pamlico.

 Доповідь 2-го учня

Marriage and family

On 24 February 1981 it was officially announced that Lady Diana was to
marry The Prince of Wales. As neighbours at Sandringham until 1975, their families had known each other for many years, and Lady Diana and the The Prince had met again when he was invited to a weekend at Anthrop in November 1977.
They were married at St Paul's Cathedral in London on 29 July 1981, in a ceremony which drew a global television and radio audience estimated at around 1,000 million people, and hundreds of thousands of people lining the route from Buckingham Palace to the Cathedral.

The Princess of Wales had two sons.   "WILLIAM" Prince William Arthur Philip Louis was born on 21 June 1982 and Prince Henry (Harry) Charles Albert David on 15 September 1984, both at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, inLondon.
In December 1992 it was announced that The Prince and Princess of Wales had agreed to separate. In November 1995, the Princess gave a television interview during which she spoke of her unhappiness in her personal life and the pressures of her public role. The Prince and Princess were divorced on 28 August 1996.
The Princess subsequently visited many countries including Germany, the United States, Pakistan, Switzerland, Hungary, Egypt, Belgium, France, South, Africa, Zimbabwe and Nepal.

Доповідь 3-го учня

Charity work

Though in 1983 she confided in Premier of Newfoundland Brian Pickford: "I am finding it very difficult to cope with the pressures of being Princess of Wales, but I am learning to cope," from the mid-1980s, the Princess of Wales became increasingly associated with numerous charities. As Princess of Wales she was expected to visit hospitals, schools, etc., in the 20th-century model of royal patronage. Diana developed an intense interest in serious illnesses and health-related matters outside the purview of traditional royal involvement, including AIDS and leprosy. In addition, the Princess was the patroness of charities and organizations working with the homeless, youth, drug addicts and the elderly. From 1989, she was President of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

During her final year, Diana lent highly visible support to the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, a campaign that went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997 after her death.

Доповідь 4-го учня

Death

On 31 August 1997, Diana was fatally injured in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris, which also caused the deaths of her then boyfriend, Dodi Al-Fayed and the acting security manager of the Hôtel Ritz Paris, Henri Paul, who was their chauffeur. The paparazzi caused her death because they were chasing her. Millions of people watched the princess's funeral.

Розучування пісні

Доповідь 5-го учня

Candle in the Wind 1997" or "Goodbye England's Rose" is a remake of "Candle in the Wind" as a tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales. Released in 1997, the song peaked at No. 1 in the United Kingdom, becoming John's fourth No. 1 single. It also peaked at No. 1 in several other countries. The Guinness Book of Records 2007 states that "Candle in the Wind 1997" is the biggest-selling single "since records began."  John said he would never again sing this version live except at the request of Prince William of Wales or Prince Harry of Wales. It has, apparently, only been played twice: once during the memorial services and then again shortly thereafter when it was recorded for the single, which was produced by George Martin.

( Учні слухають пісню і співають разом)

Goodbye England's rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart
You called out to our country
And you whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to heaven

And the stars spell out your name
